A Different Kind of Challenge

As many of you know, Fuse Fitness Coaching has a supplement of the week, every week (and if you didn’t know, now you do!). Well, for the past few weeks we have highlighted the Advocare 24-day challenge. I think it often gets overlooked because ‘challenge’ typically implies a contest, a competition, a prize to be won. And unlike our team transformation challenge, none of the above applies to the 24-day challenge. If you’re overly competitive like me, you think “so why do it then?” What makes it a challenge? The challenge is to see if you can stick with it for 24 days, to stay committed even when your confidence or willpower waivers. You are competing with yourself. The prize? There could be several. Maybe you wind up just feeling better. Maybe you drop a significant amount of body fat. Maybe you find out just how much your body is capable of. I asked one of our clients (who has become a good friend of mine and fellow bikini competitor in training), to share her experience with all of you, as she experienced all of the above….and hasn’t stopped talking about it since!

 

“Hi my name is Colleen Ogren, and I want to share my experience with the 24 day Advocare challenge. I started working out at Fuse Fitness Coaching a little over a year ago. The very first challenge I did was the Advocare 24 day challenge. At first I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to commit to it, but I stuck with it the whole time. During this challenge everything is laid out for you. You have your meal plan, workout plan that the Fuse small group classes are perfect for, and of course you have your Advocare supplements. So what is the 24-day Challenge exactly? Advocare describes it as “a comprehensive supplementation and nutrition program designed to give your body the jumpstart it needs to help you reach your goals. Colleen’s experience has inspired me to commit to the 24-Day Challenge, thus I will be doing it with her in January. I figure after all the holiday goodies and with preparing for a competition, it’s a great way to cleanse my body of all the junk and get on the right path. Maybe that’ll be my New Year’s Resolution: commit to my body’s health for 24 days. Supposedly, it takes 21 days to form a habit, so imagine keeping up with this for 24…I think that’s the perfect recipe for creating a healthy habit!
